And then I was asked to do more….

Hello Readers!

You know in life how we are always asked to give a little more effort or do a little more….like in track–your asked to run faster, cooking–your asked to make more challenging dishes, singing–you asked to hit that high note. Well for me…I was asked to do a little more at work.

Now I know what you are thinking..work?? Yes, work. My boss asked me to start going out and getting stories. My first thought was MAN OH MAN, This is my big break! Here I go Becca..out into the real world!!     AND than it dawned on me..was I ready? Did I pay enough attention in class? (Deep breaths Becca, Deep Breaths). Yes I was ready and looking forward to the challenge.

Ready for Day #2 of Reporting

After a LONG day of driving around Fargo getting footage and soundbites and FILLING my brain full of new concepts/ideas, I was finished with my first day of reporting…. Now after a few days on grind, I can say that I have a total of 5 stories that have aired on WDAY TV. Granted they are only VOB’s (that means video and a sound bite), so you can’t really even tell which stories I did, BUT I could not be more ecstatic with having those stories!

One of my VOB’s

As for now all I can keep doing is working hard and showing them I have what it takes. Maybe someday you will here me say…”Reporting Live, I’m Rebecca Lebak”. The best piece of advice I’ve been given lately is to shut my mouth, and open my eyes and ears–Be a Sponge (and I think this idea can apply to any person trying to work their way up in a business).

DREAM BIG AND WORK HARD

AND WHEN ASKED TO DO MORE…DO IT, IT PAYS OFF!

XOXO
